Seven summer routes for firefly watching and camping to enjoy Pingtung to the fullest

With summer here, Pingtung County Government has planned the "Love Pingtung Farm Tour" event, featuring seven unique routes to let everyone easily explore 11 farms in Pingtung. You can stay overnight on farms to watch "fireflies" (known as "fire gold aunties") light up the night, play freely on lush green meadows, and visit beautiful wetlands to get up close with unique ecosystems for a fulfilling summer mini-trip.

Pingtung County Government has partnered with multiple farms, including Xunzhiyuan, Damoli Farm, Datuo Family Leisure Farm, Quanyuan Leisure Farm, Butong Crocodile Eco-Farm, and Yingda Ecological Leisure Farm. Additionally, it has invited Kenting National Park Headquarters, Maolin National Scenic Area Administration, Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration, Liudui Hakka Cultural Park, and Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park to discuss integrating road signs, providing tourists with better directional guidance when visiting Pingtung.

The seven routes of the Love Pingtung Farm Tour are: Peninsula Camping Theme Two-Day Tour, Northern Pingtung Indigenous Mythology Journey, Floral Fragrance Tour, Happy Bird Days, Emerald Wonderland, Crocodile Quest, and Glowing Fireflies. A total of 30 one-day and two-day tour sessions are planned. Among them,"Northern Pingtung Indigenous Mythology Journey"Visit Hongqi Organic Leisure Farm in Gaoshu Township to taste organically grown local specialties and experience fun Hakka-style handmade rice pounding. Explore the tribal culture of Sandimen Township and participate in DIY art and craft workshops, making beautiful floral head wreaths to bring home happiness and joy."Floral Fragrance Tour"Head to Damoli Leisure Farm in Liguang Township to learn how to make eco-bricks from newspapers for building houses, taste wood-fired pizza, and visit Xunzhiyuan Herb Leisure Farm to DIY your own natural mosquito repellent."Happy Bird Days"Visit Datuo Family Leisure Farm in Yanpu Township, where you can stand on ostrich eggs, hug baby ostriches, and DIY paint quail eggs at Quanyuan Leisure Farm in Wanluan Township.

"Emerald Wonderland"Explore Yuyuan Ecological Leisure Farm in Linluo Township to spot beetles and butterflies, and enjoy a picnic date on the vast grasslands of Yingda Ecological Leisure Farm in Wanluan Township."Crocodile Quest"Visit Butong Crocodile Eco-Farm in Chaozhou Township to experience a life-or-death tug-of-war with crocodiles. For "Glowing Fireflies," visit Yiranju Firefly Eco-Farm in Xinpi Township to see how a successful firefly habitat is created.
