The Formosa Fun Coast Dust Explosion leads to the first cancellation in 16 years of the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival

The 16th New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival has been canceled due to the Formosa Fun Coast dust explosion. With many young people still in hospitals battling for their lives, and given that the current social climate is not conducive to hosting large festive events, the New Taipei City Government announced the cancellation of the originally scheduled “New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival” from July 24 to 26 this year. This marks the first time the Ocean Music Festival has been canceled since its inception.

Additionally, the list of the top ten finalist bands for this year was announced on June 24. The participating bands have invested considerable time and effort into the competition, so the “Ocean Indie Music Awards” top ten finals will be held at a later date by the city government, with further details to be announced separately.
