The Jianshan Lake Terraces in Shimen District are terraces built from volcanic rocks from Yangmingshan, with a history of over a hundred years. The fallow terraces, with the assistance of the government and local farmers passionate about agriculture, have been planted with cosmos flowers, showcasing another rural landscape.

To revitalize farmland and assist the community in expanding pesticide-free farming areas, cosmos flowers were specially planted this year in the terraces of Songshan Community. In addition to creating a beautiful landscape, this also helps improve soil quality for the planting of "Thousand-Year Rice" next year. From now until the end of July, the cosmos flowers planted in the community terraces are in full bloom, creating a vibrant sea of blossoms — the best time for flower viewing. The Shimen District Office warmly welcomes visitors to walk to the "Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage" viewing platform, built by local farmers beside the Tudi Gongling Trail, where they can enjoy a distant view of the layered and distinct terraces of the Songshan Community. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Qing Shan Waterfall, Jianshan Lake Trail, and Tudi Gongling Ancient Trail for a peaceful retreat, and can combine the trip with a visit to Bai Sha Wan and Fu Ji Fishing Port for a one-day tour.
