Most fast-food burgers are small and dainty, making them easy to eat on the go, but American-style jumbo burgers are a different story—most are too big to take a single bite, so they’re usually meant to be eaten seated in-store. But at 【Bao Biao’s Specialty American Burgers】 near the Ri Xin Theater on Zhonghua Road, you’ll find a new twist on classic American burgers.

Their first store, 【ALL-IN Bao Ku】, tucked away in an alley near Zhongyou Department Store, is famous for generous portions of brunch and burgers. Their burgers are made with genuinely hearty and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, so naturally, their standalone burger specialty shop has piqued a lot of interest.

Although many cinemas no longer allow outside food, Ri Xin Theater in Taichung still does, making the street food around Zhonghua Road Night Market a great choice for a movie (though hot pot and noodle soups are probably best skipped). Beyond drinks, fried chicken, and skewers, you can now also enjoy a hearty American burger while catching a flick. 【Bao Biao’s Specialty American Burgers】 sports a rugged industrial-chic interior, complete with dazzling stage lights and steel-frame decor.

The lighting at night makes it even more stunning. The entire shop’s design and the owner have a bold, distinctive personality. (By the way, I’d also highly recommend visiting their main store, ALL-IN Bao Ku—the decor there is even more eye-catching.) It’s primarily a takeout-focused spot, so aside from the counter (and kitchen), there are only two small sets of tables and chairs up front.

The shop’s main offerings are burgers, with a focus on using top-quality, genuine ingredients. Every element—from the bread and hand-formed patties to the proportions of each ingredient—is meticulously crafted.

Their passion for burgers is unmatched; the owners love burgers even more than their customers, which naturally translates into a pursuit of perfection in quality. By focusing on takeout, they aim to let customers enjoy the unrestrained, hearty pleasure of burgers in a more casual, laid-back way. The portion sizes and eating style are bold and satisfying, and the prices are also more affordable compared to dine-in restaurants.

Prices start at NT$160 (for a single burger), and you can customize your burger with premium toppings like jalapeños, spicy beef sauce, double cheese, onion rings, or peanut butter. Each add-on costs between NT$10 and NT$35, letting you make your burger as hearty as you like.

If a single burger isn’t enough, you can add crispy skin fries and a bubble drink for just NT$39 to fill up even more. Besides burgers, they also serve hot dogs—if you’re worried about the calories, you can think about that after eating.

【Triple-Cheese Beef Burger │ Double-Cheese Beef Burger 245元 + 85元 beef patty + 39元 fries & cola】

This is a custom order—I just had to try their beef patties, and I wanted to eat as much meat as possible in one go. And heads up: each patty weighs nearly 6.5 ounces and is made purely from hand-formed 100% beef. Some burger joints mix beef with pork or load up on onions to enhance juiciness, but Bao Biao’s doesn’t do any of that. I don’t know the exact recipe, but I heard they spent a lot of time perfecting it. Just grilling the pure beef patties filled the air with rich meaty aroma—it got me hungry just waiting.

This is how the two burgers look right after assembly in the kitchen. The triple-cheese beef burger is seriously thick and layered generously, with melted cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes stacked into a mouthwatering three-tiered giant burger. In the photo, you really need both hands to hold it—the three 6.5-ounce beef layers add up. When you take a big bite, it’s not overly juicy, but it’s incredibly tender and moist.

The beef flavor is rich, soft, and tender, paired with tangy-sweet sauces, making it an absolutely delicious burger. Even the bun isn’t overlooked—it’s lightly grilled, giving it a slightly crispy yet fluffy texture and a wonderful aroma.

The upgraded crispy skin fries are big, tasty, and deliciously crunchy on the outside with a soft inside. The box is a bit deep, so it doesn’t look like much, but for NT$39 including a cola, the portion is actually quite decent. After finishing the triple-cheese beef burger, you’ll definitely feel full. (The actual packaging includes parchment paper in the box so you can hold the burger without getting your hands greasy.)

【Bacon Cheese Beef Burger 195元 + Delicious Sunny Side Up Egg 20元 + 39元 fries & cola】

Two thick slices of bacon, two layers of beef, and an extra sunny side up egg—this combo feels just right for my current appetite. The bacon isn’t soft and tender; it has a more textured, classic American-style chewiness, which is exactly how I like it.

The runny yolk of the soft-boiled egg mixes with the beef—absolutely delicious—but it can get a bit messy to eat. No doubt about the flavor though (and the calories, haha). No matter the flavor, every burger is made with care.

【Signature Spicy Sauce Cheese Hot Dog 160元】

The hot dog submarine bun is another great option I highly recommend. It’s a big German-style hot dog with a grilled bun, topped with their signature spicy sauce (I loved it at ALL-IN Bao Ku too) and a thick layer of cheese (it looks a bit wrinkled in the photo because it had cooled slightly). It’s super satisfying.

【Signature Spicy Sauce Cheese Fries 99元】

For a more convenient option, these cheese fries are handheld but not messy, and still super satisfying. Loads of cheese and spicy sauce cover crispy fries—you can scoop up generous helpings with a few fries at a time.

It’s the kind of flavor that hardcore spice lovers will adore, but don’t worry—the spicy beef sauce isn’t overwhelmingly hot, just mildly spicy.

For burger lovers, 【Bao Biao’s Specialty American Burgers】 delivers real, high-quality taste—you can really taste the generous portions and excellent flavor of the beef patties. It’s highly recommended that you give it a try. (But if you’re not a big eater, maybe skip the triple-cheese beef burger—it’s seriously filling for one person!)
