Japan’s largest million-lily bloom is in full swing!

To wander through a colorful sea of lilies, you absolutely can’t miss HUNTER MOUNTAIN Lily Garden, reputed to be Japan’s largest lily base. From mid-July to late August, up to 4 million lilies of 50 varieties burst into bloom across the garden, creating a dreamy and breathtaking scene. Beyond admiring the beauty of the lilies with your eyes, you can also enjoy a one-of-a-kind lily ice cream at the garden. The 2015 lily blooming season is expected to run from July 18 to August 30.

Located on the renowned Nasu Plateau in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, HUNTER MOUNTAIN Lily Garden spans a vast area of approximately 100,000 square meters, where 4 million lilies of 50 varieties flourish. With its cool and pleasant climate, along with nearby famous hot springs such as Nasu Onsen and Kinugawa Onsen, it was once designated as an imperial summer retreat by the Emperor of Japan.

At HUNTER MOUNTAIN Lily Garden, visitors can enjoy the lily fields in various ways, including taking a four-seater sightseeing cable car to admire the vibrant lily-carpeted landscape from the air. There’s also the “Birch Ridge,” where birch trees and lilies complement each other beautifully, featuring various themed patterns created by local high school students using lilies. For a more fun flower-viewing experience, the garden also offers horses for riding through the lily blooms. And of course, don’t miss the garden’s most unique offering — lily ice cream!
