One of the three major annual meteor showers, the Perseid meteor shower, is coming on Thursday, August 13. It is estimated that up to 100 meteors may be seen streaking across the night sky in an hour, offering a romantic spectacle. Since the date coincides with a near-new moon in the lunar calendar, stargazing will not be affected by moonlight. After 10 p.m., once the Perseus constellation rises, you can enjoy this most brilliant summer fireworks show.

The Perseid meteor shower occurs at fixed times with a stable quantity, and it happens to take place during the summer vacation period, making it very popular. Its characteristics include medium meteor speed, medium to bright brightness, often leaving persistent trails, and it is the meteor shower with the highest number of fireballs seen in a year. The Perseid meteor shower is active from July 17 to August 24. The closer it gets to its peak (August 13), the more meteors can be seen.

Taipei Astronomical Museum stated,the best viewing time is after 10 p.m. on August 12 or 13 until dawn the next morning, with dozens of meteors visible per hour; however, the International Meteor Organization (IMO) forecast data suggests:the period from the evening of August 12 to before dawn on August 13 is likely the best time.
