Japanese Girls' Day Dolls: 1,800 Dolls Stack into a Seven-Meter-High Pyramid in Saitama Prefecture

The Japanese Girls' Day event begins around mid-February, and at a shopping mall in Wako City, an eye-catching, seven-meter-high pyramid made of ceramic dolls was created, which is truly spectacular and dazzling.

According to the Lonely Planet website, the pyramid consists of a total of 1,800 dolls representing the Emperor and Empress of the Heian period, as well as their attendants and musicians. Dressed in traditional court attire, they are displayed at the Hanno Shopping Center in Wako City.

These works were completed by 19 artisans and 60 volunteers. In addition to this piece, approximately 10,000 Girls' Day ceramic dolls will be exhibited at six venues across Saitama Prefecture.
