The Alishan Forest Railway's tea-themed cruise train tour is now on sale

The Alishan Forest Railway is launching a tea-themed cruise train in the fourth quarter, which officially went on sale on September 9th and will begin service in October. The forest railway will take passengers to "Liyuanliao Station," the only one located in Meishan Township, where they can admire the acacia tree scenic platform and discover hidden corners of Alishan never seen before.

The Alishan Forest Railway climbs from an altitude of 30 meters up to Alishan Station at 2,216 meters, passing through Chiayi City, Zhushan Township, Meishan Township, and Alishan Township. Liyuanliao Station, the only one located in Meishan Township, sits at an altitude of 905 meters. It is an unstaffed flag stop, with very few trains stopping there aside from scheduled meets. Next to the station is an acacia tree scenic viewpoint called “Jianqing Platform,” offering stunning scenery. Even Japan’s Showa Crown Prince and former President Chiang Kai-shek once visited this spot. It is a little-known secret gem of Alishan.

Fourth-Quarter Forest Railway Cruise TrainBooking for the cruise train is divided between group and individual travelers. Group reservations can be made up to 29 days before the travel date (inclusive), while individual travelers can book up to 15 days before (inclusive). Booking rules and notes are as follows:
● Fourth-Quarter Forest Railway Cruise Train Schedule:
October: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
November: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
December: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd
● Group Travel Booking Rules:
Open for booking: 29 days before the travel date (inclusive). For example: bookings for October 7th open on September 9th.
Booking hours: 10:00 AM

Passenger limit: Groups of 10 or more. Maximum 40 passengers.
● Individual Traveler Booking Rules:
Open for booking: 15 days before the travel date (inclusive). For example: bookings for October 7th open on September 23rd.

Passenger limit: Maximum 60 passengers. (Each caller may book up to 4 seats per call)
※ Each trip is limited to 100 passengers. The package price is NT$800. Children under 6 years old not occupying a seat may ride free.
