Chiseled hunks make Tainan’s popular milk tea sell out in five minutes

Not only does Taipei have “hunk tofu pudding,” but now Tainan has also introduced “hunk milk tea.” The shop fills milk tea into plastic bottles featuring muscular male torsos. The bronze-toned figures even appear to sweat under the blazing sun, looking quite sexy. When sales begin at noon each day, crowds of fans snap up all the hunk milk tea within just five minutes—it’s the hottest beverage in Tainan lately.

This hunk milk tea, launched by Tainan’s “Zhang Sanfeng’s Ice-Fire Pineapple Buns,” draws inspiration from Japan’s “muscle drinks.” The shop took the original muscle drink concept, removed the clothing to create a nude version, and matched it with the color of milk tea—making it look like a group of shirtless hunks. It’s extremely attention-grabbing. The hunk milk tea is based on Hong Kong-style milk tea and blended with six different types of tea in specific proportions. Then, the dark brown milk tea is poured into bottles full of muscular contours. With a smooth texture, it’s sold in limited quantities of 80 bottles every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Additionally, the shop has also launched blood-bag-shaped juices inspired by the idea of a “blood tonic station,” available in three flavors: grape, guava, and mango. With a daily limited run of 60 packs, these are also popular items in the store.
