The blue skies were dotted with little white clouds, making Taipei’s sky on the 9th especially adorable. Everyone’s social media feeds were flooded with these cute cotton candy clouds, lifting everyone’s mood just by looking at them.

The Central Weather Bureau explained that these clouds are called altocumulus clouds, which can form when cool air from the northeast wind meets warmer sea surface temperatures. The appearance of altocumulus clouds also indicates strengthening northeast winds, increased moisture, and signs of worsening weather. The bureau stated that the weather will be sunny and pleasant from the afternoon of the 10th through Saturday, but starting Sunday, the northeast winds will strengthen again, raising the likelihood of rainfall in northern mountainous areas and eastern regions.
