A Little Travel Joy at Taoyuan Airport: Free Access to A12, A13, and A14a Stations

The free trial period for the Taoyuan Airport MRT has ended, and it officially began service today. To attract passengers, a 50% discount on fares was offered for the first month. However, to serve the 100,000 daily passengers and 30,000 staff members with airport access permits, Taoyuan Airport subsidizes free rides on the Airport MRT within the airport premises, including travel between A12 (Terminal 1), A13 (Terminal 2), and A14a (Airport Hotel Station). Passengers simply need to use an electronic ticket such as an EasyCard or an iPass.

Taoyuan Airport stated that in addition to the Airport MRT, there are still shuttle trains and loop buses operating between terminals within the airport. With the increasing number of international travelers, usage has grown by 10% annually in recent years. Passengers traveling between terminals and airport staff on duty are welcome to make use of these services.

Additionally, the downtown check-in service was in trial operation from February 16 to March 1. According to Taoyuan Airport statistics, 3,309 bags were checked in using the self-service baggage drop-off system, with the number of users showing a daily upward trend. The highest growth rate reached 37.5%, and the peak usage occurred on February 27, with over 400 passengers using the service. This is believed to be related to the extension of service hours.
