The God of Wealth (Fude Zhengshen) is one of Taiwan’s most representative deities and also one of the most approachable gods to the people. To ensure that the worship of the God of Wealth goes beyond mere rituals and faith, the Taoyuan City Cultural Foundation and local government have specially established Taiwan’s first-ever Temple of the God of Wealth Cultural Museum in Taoyuan District — the area with the highest density of such temples. The museum not only displays statues of the God of Wealth but also features exhibitions on folklore and cultural stories related to the deity, offering rich and diverse content. The Temple of the God of Wealth Cultural Museum officially opened on March 2nd with free entry, adding a new family-friendly, educational, and entertaining destination to Taoyuan.

Taoyuan District has an average of more than seven Temple of the God of Wealth shrines per square kilometer, making it the area with the highest density in the country. To promote the culture of the God of Wealth belief, the first floor of the Taoyuan City Temple of the God of Wealth Cultural Museum exhibits multiple divine generals, allowing visitors to observe the exquisite art of deity statues up close. The second and third floors serve as permanent exhibition spaces, featuring interactive displays and a wealth of documentary resources where visitors can learn about Taoyuan’s history, Taiwanese people’s emotional connection to the land, the temple-front culture, as well as diverse global beliefs in the God of Wealth. The fourth, fifth, and sixth floors are designated as a civic art gallery, hosting various forms of art exhibitions, while the “Art Taoyuan Creative Base” is occupied by multiple artists who offer irregular hands-on workshops, establishing it as a local art hub.
