The Atlantic Coastal Highway, open since 1989, consists of eight bridges connecting the Norwegian mainland with the island of Averoy. It is one of Norway’s national scenic routes. This road is also known as the “Drunk Bridge,” named after a curved bridge section located at a turn where designers used the technique of forced perspective to create an optical illusion that makes drivers feel like there’s no way forward — an exhilarating experience.
