A Serene Time Amidst the Colorful Autumn Maples at Tenway Garden

As autumn sets in, although the maple leaves haven’t turned red yet, they have already stirred up much anticipation. Beyond the red of the maples, there are other vibrant autumn sights not to be missed. Towards the end of the year, the deciduous trees in Tenway Garden that resemble Christmas trees all turn from emerald green to golden yellow, and then to a moving red. The layered color changes allow one to witness the myriad beauties of autumn.

Located in Changhua County, Tenway Garden is hidden within the garden paths of Tianwei Highway. Upon entering the garden, you’ll find dozens of towering tamarisk trees lining the winding pond pathways, resembling an ancient forest that has existed for ages—very romantic. Since tall tamarisks are native to swampy areas, the garden has created such an ecological waterway to allow them to thrive in Taiwan. Generally, they sprout in spring, and by late autumn around mid-December to January, their leaves turn golden yellow before shifting to red, presenting a palette-like gradient beauty.
