The “Taipei, Watch ! 2015 Taipei Cityscape Public Art Festival” launched on October 7th. Rather than having public art passively wait for visitors, this year’s festival takes “WHEN CITY GOES TO THE PEOPLE” as its theme, transforming into art buses that actively venture into the city to invite everyone to explore Taipei through art!

The “Taipei, Watch ! 2015 Taipei Cityscape Public Art Festival” uses Huashan Grassland as its main exhibition hub and invited three art teams to transform buses into art installations, resulting in three distinctive landscape artworks: the “Street Concert Hall – Boom ba la boom Bus,” the “Public Kitchen,” and the “Citizens’ Playground.”
● “Street Concert Hall – Boom ba la boom Bus”
Designed by graffiti artist CYH Jayson (also known as Big Intestine King), who has gained attention at international graffiti exhibitions in recent years, this installation combines elements of graffiti art and hip-hop music.Using street art, an abandoned bus was transformed into a Boombox portable speaker, exploring the potential fusion of Taipei’s street culture, urban landscapes, and everyday life.

● “Urban Public Kitchen – Urban Garden Bus”
Designed by Ren Xinying, who has won the Taipei Urban Design Award, this piece integrates the concepts of urban farming and experimental kitchens. Using recycled materials, it presents the idea of “building your own kitchen” and promotes the new concept of edible landscapes through “growing your own food.”
