To alleviate congestion caused by the large number of pilgrims and tourists visiting the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center during Lunar New Year and consecutive holidays, this bicycle and pedestrian scenic skybridge was constructed. The Daxi Scenic Skybridge spans from the main gate of the Buddha Memorial Center across Provincial Highway 29, descends along the opposite side toward Mingjing Platform, and takes on a graceful, vine-like curve as it weaves through the urban landscape. Paired with a sunshade canopy that folds along the curves, it creates a multi-layered material expression. Together with nearby tourist attractions such as the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center, E-Da Theme Park, Qishan Railway Old Street, Meinong Town, pottery kilns, and flower seas, and along National Freeway 10 from the Renwu Interchange, Daxi Interchange to Qimei Interchange, it forms a scenic corridor. This is the fourth bicycle bridge in Kaohsiung, following the Zuoying Cuihua Bicycle Bridge, the Gushan Ship Canal Scenic Bridge, and the Zhongshan Triumphal Bicycle Bridge.
