Can you bear to eat this ultra-cute dog-shaped egg cake? Taiwan’s only “Doggy Baked Good” (犬行烧), available exclusively in Chiayi, features egg cakes shaped like dogs—its long body looks just like a dachshund, melting the hearts of dog lovers with its cuteness. Unlike regular egg cakes sold in packs, Doggy Baked Good is sold one dog at a time. How many dachshunds would you like to "raise" at once?

It all started with the simple desire to make egg cakes for the family, but after perfecting the recipe and receiving praise from relatives and friends, the founder decided to start a business back home after the birth of her second daughter. Inspired by German sausages, she created dog-shaped egg cakes, hoping that each little dog would bring good luck, hence the name “Doggy Baked Good.”

The long body of the Doggy Baked Good can be filled with various fillings. Each little dachshund hides flavors such as lemon, red bean, matcha, custard, chocolate, cheese, and even savory options in its belly. The wide variety tempts everyone. As the seasons change, there will also be limited-time “seasonal flavors.”

Sweet-flavored egg cakes aren’t rare, but stuffing a German sausage inside an egg cake is quite unusual—especially when the cake is shaped like a dachshund, instantly bringing to mind a “hot dog,” which can’t help but bring a smile.

Aside from the adorable design that melts hearts, many who have tried it say it’s moist on the inside, crispy on the outside, and especially delicious when warm. The owner explained that the ingredients are based on natural elements—for example, the batter is mixed with fresh milk and butter, giving the cake a richer and tastier texture.
