2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town Unveils 3D Projection Christmas Tree

The 2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town, held from November 20 to January 3, 2016, features a series of 45 consecutive days of events. This year’s Happy Christmas Town showcases creativity by specially inviting a world-class team to build the world’s only 360-degree 3D light sculpture Christmas tree, along with six major highlights led by Adventure Time characters Finn and Jake.

The highly anticipated Christmas main light show always brings new surprises and creative ideas every year. This time, the Christmas Town goes international, inviting for the first time the world-renowned 3D light sculpture production company – The Electric Canvas (TEC) from Australia. They have meticulously created the “world’s only 360-degree 3D light sculpture projection Christmas tree.” TEC, which has produced the world’s largest light show event – Vivid Sydney, will for the first time perform a 360-degree 3D light sculpture projection on a conical column. This 3D projection Christmas tree will use high-spec projectors from 12 different angles to project simultaneously, maintaining high brightness and image quality throughout, with a light intensity of 240,000 lumens—equivalent to the brightness of 24,000 iPhone flashlights turned on at once—to present detailed animations around the 360-degree conical structure.

Starting from November 20, the “2015 New Taipei City Happy Christmas Town” will officially light up the city. From 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM each night, a spectacular Christmas tree fantasy main light show combining architecture, animation, 3D technology, and music will be presented every half hour, filling the venue with creativity and imagination.
