Located at the border of Chiayi County and Tainan City, Zengwen Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Taiwan. It irrigates the Jianan Plain and nurtures a rich diversity of natural species. On a clear day, the sparkling water here is a feast for the eyes. Besides taking a sightseeing cruise to admire the lake and mountains, the observation tower bridge is also a great spot to enjoy the scenery. Overlooking the lake from above, your worries will instantly vanish.

In the past, visitors to Zengwen Reservoir could only stroll along the lakeshore or take a boat to enjoy the scenery. But since the completion of the Zhongzheng Building Observation Deck, the reservoir has gained a new landmark—a 21-meter-high tower connected to the old observation deck. The long skywalk feels like it’s leading you to the edge of the water, and the circular tower design allows for a 360-degree view of the beautiful scenery. From the top, you can take in the lush mountains and the lake’s panorama.

The observation tower is about seven stories high. Visitors can choose to take the elevator or walk up the stairs. A 360-degree, unobstructed view of natural beauty awaits, and on a clear day, any photo taken here looks like a landscape painting. The tower also sells coffee and light snacks. Pick a leisurely day to come here, enjoy the breeze, and soak in the scenery.
