With strong demand for Japan travel, TransAsia Airways is upgrading its Tokyo route starting November with the more spacious Airbus A330. To celebrate the A330's inaugural flight to Tokyo, they recently deployed 285 miniature TransAsia air hostess bears on board the GE606 flight from Taoyuan to Narita. Additionally, to celebrate the new aircraft, from now until January next year, passengers flying TransAsia’s Japan routes operated by the A330 can enjoy an extra free baggage allowance of 10 kilograms.

In addition to Tokyo, TransAsia Airways also flies to five other Japanese destinations: Osaka, Okinawa, Sapporo, Hakodate, and Asahikawa, offering a total of 42 weekly flights. To celebrate the arrival of the A330, from November 1 this year to January 31 next year, passengers flying TransAsia-operated flights to any Japanese destination—including Tokyo, Osaka, and Hokkaido (Sapporo, Hakodate, Asahikawa)—will receive an additional free checked baggage allowance of 10 kilograms. This brings the total free checked baggage allowance to 30 kilograms for economy class passengers, 40 kilograms for business class, and up to 50 kilograms for DragonPass members.
