Taiwan High Speed Rail has launched a special “Three New Stations Opening Promotion” to celebrate the launch of operations at the three new stations in Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin on December 1, 2015. As long as you purchase a “designated fare type” ticket for travel between December 1 and December 15 (a period of fifteen days), and your journey includes any one of the three new stations — Miaoli, Changhua, or Yunlin — as either the origin or destination, you can exchange your original ticket for one free standard-class reserved-seat ticket for the same travel section valid until January 31, 2016.

To celebrate the creation of a “one-day living circle” and to witness the transportation highlights in the Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin regions, THSR stated that passengers who travel between December 1 and December 15, 2015, with a “designated fare type” ticket where either the origin or destination is one of these three stations — and who have actual entry/exit records at any of the three stations — can go to the station ticket window to exchange for one free standard-class reserved-seat ticket for the same travel section. (For example: if you purchase a full-fare standard-class reserved-seat ticket from Taipei to Yunlin, you can exchange it for a free ticket from Yunlin to Taipei or Taipei to Yunlin after your trip.)

Each eligible ticket can be exchanged for only one free ticket for the same travel section (even if both the origin and destination are among the three new stations, only one free ticket will be issued). Tickets without actual entry/exit records at Miaoli, Changhua, or Yunlin stations are not eligible for free ticket exchange.
 
※ “Designated fare types” refer to: full-fare standard-class reserved seats without any discount, 20% off business-class full fares, full-fare standard-class non-reserved seats, 4% off weekday off-peak full fares, or 5% off regular group full fares.
※ Original tickets that have already benefited from statutory discounts such as senior, care, or child fares, or other THSR promotional offers, are not eligible for free ticket exchange.
※ Free tickets are valid for use until January 31, 2016, but are not valid during the New Year holiday travel period (December 31, 2015, to January 4, 2016).
※ Other details:
1. Exchanged tickets are standard-class reserved seats and no changes will be accepted after exchange.
2. Passengers who have already purchased discounted tickets for travel between December 1 and December 15, 2015, where the journey includes Miaoli, Changhua, or Yunlin stations (such as “early bird discounts”), and who wish to switch to this promotion, may go to any station ticket window to refund their original ticket and purchase a new one under this promotion — no handling fee will be charged.
3. In case of any changes to the promotion details, THSR will issue a separate announcement.
