Missed this summer’s Taitung Hot Air Balloon Festival? No worries, you can now take a hot air balloon ride in winter too. Taitung County Government has launched a winter hot air balloon free-flight travel package, combined with the “Hot Air Balloons: A Taitung Journey” tour itinerary. From now until the end of the year, travelers who want to fly can all take part.

The Taitung Hot Air Balloon Festival is a major summer event in Taiwan, attracting over 800,000 visitors every year. However, many may not know that, weather permitting, hot air balloons can actually fly freely in Taitung 365 days a year. This time, Taitung County Government has combined the unique features of the longitudinal valley with winter hot air balloon experiences, and launched the “Hot Air Balloons: A Taitung Journey” combo tour starting today. The itinerary includes taking a hot air balloon ride to enjoy bird’s-eye views of the valley, as well as in-depth visits to tribal culture, farm stays, hands-on DIY activities, and tasting Taitung’s natural, toxin-free specialty foods.

Taitung County Government will also hold a “Hot Air Balloon Fun Day” on November 20–22, featuring a hot air balloon market, fun DIY activities (windmills, paper hot air balloons), music picnics, and more.

“Hot Air Balloons: A Taitung Journey”
◎ Participants in the 3-day tour package have the chance to experience a free hot air balloon free flight (original price NT$10,300, early-bird price NT$5,500 for first 40 people)
◎ Participants in the 2-day tour package can enjoy a half-price hot air balloon free flight (original price NT$8,300, special price NT$6,000 for first 100 people)
◎ Participants in the 1-day tour package can explore hot air balloons at a discounted walk-in rate (NT$1,500, special price NT$1,000 for first 200 people, saving NT$500).
