Not only is Korea optimistic about business opportunities in Taiwan with many restaurants expanding here, but Japan is also gradually opening new stores in Taiwan. This year, in addition to the launch of many well-known Japanese ramen shops, other popular items such as creamy bread, skewered fried foods, and chicken wings have also made their way to Taiwan. ● Happo-ten
The popular Japanese cream bread shop “Happo-ten” has arrived in Taiwan. Since its founding in 1933 as a wagashi (Japanese confectionery) maker, it has built an 82-year legacy. Six years ago, the third-generation owner took over and developed creamy bread with thin crusts and generous fillings, turning it into a wildly popular bakery in Japan—selling over 40,000 pieces a day. Its popularity is beyond imagination.

From now until January 12, 2016, a pop-up counter will be set up at B3 of Taipei Main Station, and from November 20 onward, a permanent location will open at Banqiao Vieshow Cinemas Mall. In addition to classic flavors such as custard, fresh cream, matcha, red bean, chestnut, chocolate, and mango, Taiwan-exclusive flavors like French-style cream, fresh fruit, and ice cream are also available.
