Hot Ticketing for the Dawn Train: Taiwan Railways' New Year's Holiday Booking Schedule

In previous years, the dawn train to Sanxiantai in Taitung often caused a buying frenzy. However, the destination of the dawn train trips put on sale on November 30, 2015, was different. Unlike the usual route to Taimali, the new offering departs on December 31 and arrives late at night in Alishan to prepare for welcoming the first light of dawn and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over Alishan.

The dawn train trip is one of the cruise-style train services launched by Taiwan Railways for autumn and winter. The New Year's Eve trip, put on sale on November 30, achieved good sales with 50% of tickets sold immediately. Some travelers also mentioned that the festive countdown atmosphere on the train during previous years' New Year's Eve was lively and unforgettable. The booking schedule for Taiwan Railways' 2016 New Year's holiday is also a key concern for both travelers and those going home. Taiwan Railways announced that ticket sales will begin at midnight on December 17. Tickets will be available for trains running between December 31, 2015, and January 4, 2016.
