More photo ops coming your way！Tokyo’s Odaiba to unveil life-size “Unicorn Gundam” this fall

The life-sized Gundam “RG1/1 RX78-2 Gundam Ver.GFT,” one of Tokyo Odaiba’s iconic landmarks, officially bid farewell on the 5th, but travelers need not worry. According to Japanese media reports, a 1:1 life-sized Unicorn Gundam themed around "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" will make its appearance at the same location, DiverCity Tokyo, this fall.

Since 2012, the life-sized Gundam figure, standing approximately 18 meters tall, has been displayed in the plaza in front of DiverCity Tokyo’s shopping mall, quickly becoming a popular photo spot. After five years on display, it officially ended its exhibition period on March 5 this year. It will be replaced by a brand-new, full-scale Unicorn Gundam statue with a completely different design and color scheme, which will bring a fresh look to DiverCity starting this fall.

In addition, the Gundam specialty store located on the seventh floor of DiverCity, which is set to close on April 5, will be transformed into a comprehensive facility called “The GUNDAM Base Tokyo,” with plans for an early summer opening this year.
