Taoyuan Flower Color Festival Debuts with Stunning Tai Chi Flower Sea

The first-ever “Taoyuan Flower Color Festival” kicked off in relay across four districts—Zhongli, Pingzhen, Dayuan, and Luzhu—starting December 12. The initial wave of activities commenced on the 12th in Zhongli, Pingzhen, and Dayuan, and will continue in line with the flowering period until December 20. Then on the 19th, the Luzhu District takes over, with the flowering display and on-site activities running through December 27. That means visitors can enjoy vast flower seas in Taoyuan for nearly the entire month.

The Taoyuan Flower Color Festival plants floral seas by letting rice paddies rest and regenerate, cultivating flowers such as sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias to showcase a beautiful new look of Taoyuan’s countryside. It also invites everyone to take advantage of the warm early winter sunshine and come enjoy the joyful atmosphere filled with colorful blooms. Each of the four festival zones features unique floral landscapes. The Zhongli event theme, “Tai Chi ‘Floral Language Easy’,” was conceived through collective creativity by local farmers, who ingeniously combined “flower colors” with the geometric qualities of “circles” to present a spectacular red-and-white Tai Chi pattern of yin and yang fusion in the fields. The Pingzhen District adopts a fairy-tale theme, creating the most dreamy garden-style setting and integrating fun three-dimensional visuals to attract visitors for photos. The Dayuan District event is held at Xihai Flower Park, an important distribution hub for florists and flower vendors in northern Taiwan, with nearby well-known leisure farms. In addition to DIY hibiscus fruit preserves and flower tea made by local home economics classes, there’s also a scenic flower wall for photo ops. The Luzhu District has hosted landscape flower season events for several consecutive years, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. This year’s event is themed “Luzhu Fantasy Garden,” making visitors feel as though they’ve stepped into a time tunnel.
