Detective Conan Exhibition Makes Its Overseas Debut with Classic Scenes Reimagined

The Japanese national manga "Detective Conan," which debuted in 1994 and has been serialized for over 20 years, celebrated its 20th anniversary milestone with the "Detective Conan Exhibition: 20th Anniversary of Serialization." After touring several cities in Japan and generating tremendous buzz, its first overseas exhibition grandly opened on December 25 at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei.

Unlike conventional exhibitions, the "Detective Conan Exhibition: 20th Anniversary of Serialization" combines the fun of "viewing" with "solving mysteries," making it Taiwan’s first-ever mystery-solving exhibition. Fans who purchase tickets receive a detective handbook. The handbook not only details the background of the Huashan Murder Case but also features five different covers—each based on popular characters from the manga such as "Edogawa Conan," "Kudo Shinichi," "Hattori Heiji," "Kaitou Kid," and the "Junior Detective League"—with unique puzzles inside. After entering the venue, fans solve the puzzles using clues found throughout the exhibition to uncover the truth, then head to the "Report Office" to identify the correct culprit and attempt to reconstruct the truth behind the Huashan Murder Case. This ingeniously crafted crime scenario allows everyone to become a detective and enjoy the thrill of piecing together the mystery.

Beyond the mystery-solving, the "Detective Conan Exhibition" display areas are also not to be missed. As visitors enter, the first thing they see is a life-sized "Conan x Shinichi" figure, specially created by creator Gosho Aoyama for the 20th anniversary, welcoming everyone at the entrance. Next, the "Mouri Detective Agency," familiar to Conan fans, is transformed into a crime scene. All the clues left behind from the murder case are authentically recreated, delivering an even more immersive experience.
