The cherry blossom season in Taipei has quietly arrived, marking a one-month period of bloom, with the Lunar New Year holiday coinciding with the best time to view the flowers. Hurry along the trails to immerse yourself in seas of fresh, hopeful pink blooms, and make your New Year wishes come true. During this rare family reunion time over the Lunar New Year, we especially recommend 24 cherry blossom trails. Pingjing Street in Shilin District has recently become a new crowd favorite. Along the street, you’ll find stunning clusters of cherry tree canopies. Among them, the mountain cherry blossoms along the “Bamboo Grove Trail” are currently in full bloom. As you walk into the trail, a vast sea of pink and white blossoms greets you, set against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds – truly breathtaking. In addition, Beitou District boasts the highest density of cherry blossom forests in Taipei, with the bloom typically starting around early February. We recommend walking down from the “Shangqing Palace Trail,” which connects various cherry blossom viewing spots along the way, or visiting the “Fengwei Trail” that runs through the cherry blossom woods. The surrounding hillsides covered in pink cherry blossoms have become a favorite among visitors.

Admire cherry blossoms on a trail at Maokong. This year, starting from Section 3 of Zhinan Road, you’ll see lovely pink cherry blossoms along the road. The Department of Urban Development has also added many beautification facilities, offering delightful surprises at every turn. After arriving at the Maokong Gondola Station, we recommend taking the “Camphor Lake Loop Trail.” The path is gentle and easy to walk, making it perfect for a family outing during the Lunar New Year.
