Attention, travelers to Thailand: Thai visa system under maintenance, manual stamping from March 15

The Thai government introduced tourist visa discount measures last December and further extended them until August 31. However, travelers planning to visit Thailand soon should take note: the Thai Trade and Economic Office will carry out maintenance on its visa system starting March 15. During this period, visas will only be issued via manual stamping, and normal operations are expected to resume in the first week of April.

The Thai Trade and Economic Office stated that due to technical issues, maintenance of the visa system will begin on March 15 and is expected to take about three weeks. The usual visa stickers will be replaced by manual stamping during this time. The office advises travelers who do not plan to depart before the first week of April to apply for their visas after the system maintenance is completed. This visa discount program applies to 21 countries, including Taiwan, China, Ukraine, India, and Romania. For example, in Taiwan, each person can save around NT$1,200 in visa fees.
