Kaohsiung Minimalist Café – A Honey Cinnamon Coffee with Four Distinct Flavors in One Cup

After visiting the Dabao Sightseeing Factory that day, our next stop was to meet up with a friend for coffee. Located on Yongkang Street, TaMa Café has a simple exterior and a small signboard that you could easily miss.

TaMa Café has been operating at its new location on Yongkang Street for some time now. Its white, minimalist façade is tucked away among residential buildings, and it’s really easy to overlook if you’re not paying attention—there were quite a few motorcycles parked outside that day.

Pushing open the door, you’ll find a seating area with red and green sofas. The interior is spacious, with ample space between tables—a feature we really loved.

From a distance, it looks like glass ball decorations, but up close, you’ll discover they’re retro toy bubble balls made from blow-up space toys. The owner is super creative, and this little discovery was such a pleasant surprise for us.

Since there were other customers in the café, we only took a few quick shots of the interior.

The handmade desserts offered at the café vary daily—you can check their Facebook page for the latest options. The selection of pour-over single-origin coffees and desserts isn’t listed on the menu but is written on the blackboard instead.

Now, let’s take a look at the menu. If you’re a fan of single-origin coffee, you can ask the staff for recommendations. That day, we opted for a flavored coffee.

There’s a minimum spend policy at the café.

That day, we ordered a honey cinnamon coffee and a matcha latte. For dessert, we had a double berry cheesecake and a crispy orange tart.

The double berry cheesecake has an ice cream-like texture, combining two types of berries in one bite along with crushed cookies, creating a colorful and layered flavor experience.

The crispy orange tart—while taking photos, we kept catching whiffs of the orange slices’ aroma. It has a slightly dry and crisp texture, and overall, the taste leans sweet, with orange fragrance but less of the citrusy tang. This is just my personal impression, for reference.

The honey cinnamon coffee offers four distinct flavors in one cup—a lightly chilled flavored coffee where honey, milk, coffee, and cinnamon are layered beautifully. Since I love cinnamon, this cup was an absolute favorite. You can enjoy it as is to experience all four flavors, or stir it if you prefer a more balanced taste.

The hot matcha latte featured a refreshing heart-shaped latte art. Both my friend and I loved this drink—the matcha’s aroma and flavor were rich, and amid the smoothness of the milk, you could still taste the unique bitter finish of matcha.

We also had a slice of b Hanns REO pound cake paired with a scoop of b Hanns strawberry ice cream, making for a perfect combination. Sitting by the window, enjoying coffee and dessert while having fun taking photos—it was a simple, relaxing moment.
