As spring approaches, the vibrant blooms of the season are something to look forward to with great anticipation. From March 12 to March 27, 2016, the Taiwan University Mountain Experimental Farm hosted the “Spring Feast” event, inviting everyone to come up the mountain and enjoy the lush spring scenery together.

The Taiwan University Mountain Experimental Farm is located approximately 14.5 kilometers along Provincial Highway 14A, at an elevation of 2,100 meters. Both its climate and scenery are distinctive, and especially enchanting in spring with its romantic floral displays. To celebrate this, the farm holds the annual “Spring Feast” event every March, with admission via purchased tickets. The 2016 Spring Feast was themed “Cycles,” with the site divided into four main zones: “The Cycle of Beauty and Life,” “The Cycle of Environment and Culture,” “The Cycle of Body and Earth,” and “The Cycle of Finite Resources.” Visitors could explore these four zones to construct a cyclical map of the mountain farm.

The event featured a rich and diverse range of activities, including the “Temperate Flower Zone,” which showcased horticulture and floral arrangements embodying the concept of life aesthetics; the uniquely national “Taiwan Pleione Exhibition”; the “Love & Recycle Corner” where the farm’s special publications and handmade items were sold; the “Resource Exchange” activity that encouraged the reuse of materials; the “Forest People’s Paradise”; the “Early Spring Alpine Herbs Special Exhibition” featuring small potted plants adorning dining tables with greenery; as well as the “Vegetable Field Big World,” which highlighted farming activities. Fresh, locally grown, and environmentally friendly agricultural specialties were also available for purchase on-site.
