A well-known night view restaurant on Yangmingshan was recently reported by the Construction Management Office for illegal structures. Four scenic restaurants were found to have extensive illegal constructions, including the always-popular "On the Roof" and "Grass Mountain Nights," both of which are on the list.

The four restaurants are "On the Roof," "Grass Mountain Nights," "Bagua Nights," and "Back Garden." The illegal parts mainly include glass-partitioned scenic private rooms and fixed rain shelters. Movable umbrellas are not considered illegal structures. As Yangmingshan is a popular spot in Taipei for night views, these hillside scenic restaurants are often packed with visitors. The parts currently under review as illegal structures are being voluntarily dismantled by the businesses. Those planning to visit Yangmingshan for a scenic dinner and night views should double-check the operating status of the restaurants before heading out.
