Qing Shan Japanese Cuisine will launch the “Qing Shan Chef for a Day” program from March 1 to April 30. The restaurant will offer a flexible menu using freshly selected seafood such as lobster, grouper, and abalone, along with Marriott’s renowned beef, all prepared by Luo Zonglin, deputy chef de partie of Qing Shan Teppanyaki.
During the class, guests will learn about the style of Japanese teppanyaki, culinary knowledge, and fire-control techniques, while preparing dishes including premium seafood, main courses, seasonal vegetables, rice, and desserts. Participants may also bring their own ingredients to cook. The minimum spend per private room is NT$26,000 + 10% for lunch and NT$36,000 + 10% for dinner, recommended for groups of 7 to 8. Any food purchases during the meal period can be applied toward the private room minimum.
In addition to Japanese teppanyaki, GMT Italian-French Restaurant will host “GMT Cooking Classes” on the first and third Thursdays of each month from March 8 to May 17. These sessions will be led by either Massimo Picci, the executive chef of Italian cuisine from Florence, Italy, or Chef Qiu Yijie of GMT, offering an authentic Italian cooking experience.
Using seasonal and high-quality ingredients, participants will create handmade pasta, classic Italian meat sauce, and pastoral-inspired main dishes in an open kitchen island setup. The “GMT Cooking Class” allows students to understand the intricate process of making fresh pasta, the art of balancing classic tomato beef sauce, and how to harmonize fresh ingredients. Guests can then enjoy the delicious dishes they’ve made. The class fee is NT$2,500 per person (including service charge), suitable for groups of 4 to 8, and coffee and tea are provided free of charge during the session. Both the “Qing Shan Chef for a Day” and “GMT Cooking Classes” require a 7-day advance reservation.
