However, as the mining industry declined, residents gradually left, and by the 1950s, the population had plummeted to fewer than 600 people, turning it into a ghost town. It wasn’t until 1994 that wealthy owners, captivated by the area’s stunning environment, restored the town and transformed it into the Dunton Hot Springs Resort, breathing new life into this land.

The Dunton Hot Springs Resort is located near the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. The surrounding area boasts exceptionally magnificent natural mountain forest views. There are a total of 11 cabins available for accommodation, forming a small village. The resort features a dance hall, library, yoga and massage rooms, a grand living room, and comfortable hot spring facilities. These high-end amenities almost make you forget that this place was once a lifeless ghost town.
