Taichung’s New Free Flower-Viewing Secret Spot: A Burst of Colorful Blooms and Tamarisk Forests in One View

To welcome the upcoming Taichung Flower Expo at the end of the year, the municipal government has planted various landscape green manure crops in different areas, including cosmos flowers and rapeseed fields, transforming Taichung into a city of gardens. Among them, the Guangfu Flower Sea in Xitun District not only features vast fields of cosmos and rapeseed flowers, but also, if you walk further along the wooden boardwalk, you’ll find a tamarisk forest in the water—perfect for taking photos with a foreign ambiance right in the middle of the water.

The Guangfu Flower Sea has been held for six years. Spanning 10 hectares, the flower sea includes fields of cosmos flowers, wheat fields, and rapeseed fields. Nearby lies the Zhongke Tamarisk Secret Spot. Visitors who come to admire the flowers can not only stroll through the vibrant flower sea but also walk along the wooden boardwalk over the water, enjoying a variety of beautiful sights all at once.

Additionally, the flower sea features installation art such as water buffaloes and thatched cottages. You can also climb up to the observation deck to take in the panoramic view of the flower sea made up of different colors, offering endless photo opportunities for flower-loving visitors. There’s free parking opposite Guangxing Temple. Walk along the flower-viewing path toward the gas station, and you’ll find the Zhongke Tamarisk Secret Spot.
