Every spring during the cherry blossom season, the area around Kawagoe’s Ice Cave Shrine bursts into bloom, and the most lively—and romantic—event is the Little Edo Kawagoe Boat Ride. The 2016 Little Edo Kawagoe Spring Boat Ride kicked off on April 2nd, with the peak period coinciding with full cherry blossom bloom, continuing even into May. When the river is also bordered by fields of rapeseed flowers, the fresh, vivid beauty of spring can be especially appreciated through the experience of gliding across the water.
