New Direct Taipei-Kaohsiung Option with Taiwan Railways’ Puyuma and Taroko Trains

Previously, the Puyuma and Taroko trains only ran as far as Changhua Station on the western trunk line. The expanded service southward has increased the number of trains between Taipei and Kaohsiung. Two new Tze-Chiang Limited Express services have been added between Taipei and Chaozhou, Pingtung, with travel times between Taipei–Pingtung and Taipei–Kaohsiung being 4 hours and 3 hours 40 minutes respectively, operated daily by trains 111 and 136.
