The annual Golden Trumpet Tree blossoms are quietly blooming, transforming southern Taiwan’s streets into a sea of golden yellow. These trees are commonly planted along roadsides in central and southern Taiwan. When they reach their peak bloom in March, the vast stretches of golden beauty shine brilliantly under the sunlight. Although the floral display isn’t as spectacular as the previous year, the splendid blooming period lasts only about ten days—so don’t miss this chance to enjoy the uniquely southern golden scenery.

Known also as the Golden Trumpet Tree, the Golden Bell Tree is native to Brazil, and its flowering is highly influenced by the climate. In 2015, the explosive, widespread blooms created a breathtaking sight. This year, the buds are opening later than usual, but near the National Taxation Bureau, Central Taiwan, in West District, Taichung, a sea of blossoms can already be seen—adding a touch of golden romance to the city and painting the streets with vibrant spring colors.
