The 2016 Taoyuan Shimen Hot Air Balloon Carnival unfolds on June 18, 19, 25, and 26 at the Nanyuan Ecological Park of Shimen Reservoir, offering a rich variety of themed activities such as tethered hot air balloon ascents and nighttime light sculpture concerts — allowing you to enjoy a rare hot air balloon carnival right here in Taoyuan.

To promote local industry development, the Shimen Hot Air Balloon Carnival has partnered with local live fish and yacht businesses, allowing visitors to savor the delicious fresh fish of Shimen Reservoir while taking in the beautiful lake and mountain scenery. The event site will also feature the re-lighting of the main lantern “Qi Tian Chuang Hong Yun” from the Taiwan Lantern Festival. To encourage the use of public transport, Taiwan Tourist Shuttle buses will be offered at a 20% discount throughout the event period. Everyone is invited to take a hot air balloon ride and explore Shimen.
