Global Regional Airports Ranking: Chubu Centrair Airport in Japan Wins Top Spot

Renowned aviation service research organization SKYTRAX has released its 2016 list of the world's best regional airports, with Japan's Chubu Centrair Airport taking first place — marking its second consecutive year at the top. The second and third places went to Germany's Cologne Bonn Airport and the United States' Denver Airport, respectively.

Opened officially in February 2005, Chubu Centrair Airport is known as the “Gateway to the Central Japan Sky.” Its strategic location makes it very convenient for traveling to major cities and popular tourist destinations across the Chubu region. The airport also features a wide array of souvenir shops and a number of popular dining options, making it a favorite leisure spot for local residents during holidays.
