Hong Kong Airport charges passengers a construction fee of at least HK$70 per person

Hong Kong International Airport will collect an “Airport Construction Fee” ranging from HK$70 to HK$180 from departing, transit, and transfer passengers on tickets issued on or after August 1. The fee structure is determined by flight distance, ticket class, and passenger category, with the revenue going towards funding the expansion of the third runway system. Additionally, landing fees and parking fees for airlines will be raised starting September 1.

Fee schedule announced by the Hong Kong Airport Authority:

Departing

1. Long-haul routes: Economy class HK$160; First/Business class HK$180
2. Short-haul routes: Economy class HK$90; First/Business class HK$160

Transit/Transfer

1. Long-haul routes: Economy class HK$160; First/Business class HK$180
2. Short-haul routes: Economy class HK$70; First/Business class HK$160

Long-haul: Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Southwest Pacific, and the Indian subcontinent
Short-haul: All destinations other than long-haul ones
