Attention washi tape enthusiasts—Japan’s Okayama now has a “Washi Tape Castle”! The world-famous mt washi tape has partnered with Okayama to cover the exterior of Okayama Castle in vibrant mt designs, transforming this iconic landmark into a colorful washi tape wonderland. From March 24 to June 30, you can admire this unique spectacle.

Tigerair Taiwan launched the Taipei (Taoyuan)–Okayama route in mid-July last year, successfully boosting tourism in Okayama. This is not only the hometown of Momotaro but also the birthplace of the globally renowned mt washi tape in Kurashiki, Okayama. From March 24 to May 7, the exterior of Okayama Castle will be covered in washi tape, turning it into a Washi Tape Castle. Even the city’s streetcars and the swan boats on the Asahigawa River near Korakuen Garden will be decorated with washi tape—making even your commute or boat ride extra artsy.

Additionally, from March 24 to June 30, an exclusive mt experience shop will open inside Okayama Castle.
