The popular Hawaiian pancake shop “Moena Cafe” has taken Tokyo by storm, attracting long queues daily and drawing many Taiwanese tourists who specifically come to try it. It has even been praised by Japanese media as Hawaii’s top pancake shop. Now, its first Taiwan branch opened on July 20 in Taipei’s East District, with many already eager to taste its authentic Hawaiian cuisine.

Since 2014, Moena Cafe has been ranked No.1 in the Honolulu Magazine readers’ poll for best brunch in Hawaii for three consecutive years. Its signature “Happy Strawberry Whipped Cream Pancake” features a thick layer of fresh strawberry whipped cream spread over a freshly made pancake, topped with roasted crushed pistachios. Its soft and fluffy texture has won over many taste buds. Another popular dish is the “Banana Whipped Cream Pancake,” which is also dubbed the “Vortex Pancake” due to its spiraled special whipped cream.
