The stunning Nanfangao sea-crossing bridge is lit up to transform into the romantic Qixi Magpie Bridge

From August 6 to 9, 2016, a four-day romantic event takes place in Nanfangao for Valentine’s Day in Yilan. Every evening at 7:07 p.m., the sea-crossing bridge will be illuminated, transforming into a joyful Qixi Magpie Bridge. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful seascape and the vibrant atmosphere of the fishing village, making it the perfect spot for couples to spend a romantic night together.

The sea-crossing bridge is made up of 13 cables, with a deck length of 140 meters — symbolizing "one life, one lifetime." The bridge features a special “True Love Code” game where you can create your own love code. There’s also a cultural and creative market as well as live performances such as concerts, allowing you to immerse yourself in Yilan’s warm local culture.

To prevent traffic congestion during the event, Yilan County Government provides “Love Buses,” offering free shuttle services between Su’ao Railway Station and the Harbor Bureau every evening from 6 p.m. to midnight. On August 6 (the opening day) and August 9 (Qixi), couples riding the Love Bus can participate in fun games for a chance to win one of 999 heart-shaped golden sand chocolates — available while supplies last.
