Meanwhile, Typhoon Omais, the fifth named storm, is moving northward toward the open waters east of Japan. Taiwan is being affected by the outer circulation of the tropical depression, bringing unstable weather to northern Taiwan with occasional brief showers. Starting on the 10th, the low pressure will envelop Taiwan,with possible localized heavy rain in mountainous areas of the western half, as well as in Nantou, Kaohsiung-Pingtung, Greater Taipei, Hsinchu-Miaoli, Hualien, and Taitung—13 counties and cities in total. Be cautious of lightning strikes and sudden strong winds.Make sure to carry rain gear when going out.
