Major 6.2-magnitude Earthquake Strikes Italy, Severe Damage Reported – Travel Advisory

The damage primarily occurred in the mountainous border areas of the Lazio, Umbria, and Marche regions. Many hilltop towns were almost completely destroyed, with rescue workers frantically digging through rubble by hand to save lives. Both the Italian government and civilians have prioritized disaster relief. Although the affected area is not commonly visited by tourists, travelers planning itineraries should exercise extra caution.
