Hsinchu Fishing Port Transforms into a Colorful New Attraction as International Kite Competition Venue

Over the course of August 27 and 28, the “2016 Hsinchu Kite Festival” was held for two consecutive days at the large lawn of Hsinchu Fishing Port. With the promotion of the Hsinchu City Government, a total of 48,000 kite enthusiasts flocked to the event to enjoy a land-and-air double feast that combined “wind” and “environmental protection,” keeping Hsinchu Fishing Port bustling day and night.

Hsinchu Fishing Port is an ideal place for flying kites. The upcoming “International Kite Competition Venue” at the new Hsinchu Fisherman’s Wharf, set to be completed in 2017, will provide a more professional and high-quality space for kite flying. Enthusiasts are sure to return every year for the festival, actively promoting stunt kites to enhance the appeal and highlight of the Nankang area. Related surrounding facilities are also under preparation, and Hsinchu Fishing Port is expected to welcome even more tourists in 2017.
