As the weather cools in early autumn, it’s an ideal time to visit the Guanziling Scenic Area for a soak. Having been held for many years, the Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival has become one of the most iconic seasonal events in Tainan during the fall and winter. Each year, it attracts visitors to the hot spring area with a rich variety of exciting activities, helping them shake off accumulated fatigue and recharge their energy.

Mayor Lai sincerely invites friends from all over the country to experience the best hot springs in Guanziling. He mentioned that in recent years, the municipal government has assisted hot spring businesses in Guanziling in obtaining hot spring certification. Now, the tourism industry is becoming increasingly well-established, featuring not only the religious pilgrimage of the Fire God King but also gourmet food, along with beautifully crafted nighttime light shows that make it feel like being in Japan—where you can wear a yukata, listen to music, enjoy performances, and dine under the night sky.

The Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival features four main highlights: First is the inaugural “Festival Parade,” which invites participation from local communities and residents, as well as those who love cultural festival events. Second is the “Hot Spring Gourmet Cuisine,” offering a “Hot Spring on the Tip of the Tongue” sake hot spring set meal. Third is the “Yukata Culture,” where local businesses create unique yukata designs and host yukata experiences, fashion shows, and more. Fourth is the collaborative effort with the West Scenic Area Administration to create Guanziling’s “Nighttime Light Environment,” featuring not only dazzling light shows but also a series of lanterns, light zen pillar pathways, and other illuminated displays, allowing visitors to stroll through Guanziling’s colorful mountain-city nightscape and enjoy a wonderful multi-sensory experience.

The Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival runs from September 24 to October 23. In addition to various activities and discounts such as yukata fashion shows, light show performances, holiday markets, music lectures, and guided tours, the festival also features a variety of local cultural experiences, including the Dongshan Coffee Mini Tour, a tasting journey of Lingnan Kiln Village’s osmanthus wine and bread DIY, Liuziyuan rural experience tours, and citrus picking.
