McDonald’s launches new products to create buzz and attract customers, especially in Japan where the brand is particularly innovative. The McSWEETS series is McDonald’s dessert line in Japan, featuring desserts, beverages, and cakes—all of which are constantly refreshed to surprise consumers. In autumn 2016, the Morinaga Milk Caramel-flavored milkshake was launched, touted as a “century collaboration.”

This product was launched on September 21 as a limited-time offer. Customers who presented an empty Morinaga Milk Caramel box could enjoy a large cup of the milkshake at a discount of 50 yen (original price: 200 yen per large cup), while the small cup was priced at 120 yen.
