The new-generation healing mascot Gudetama is on display at the "Gudetama Lazy Exhibition" in Taichung.

The ultra-popular "Gudetama," hailed as the new-generation healing "mascot king" in Taiwan, attracted nearly 400,000 fans during its "Gudetama Lazy Exhibition" from 2015 to 2016 in Taipei and Kaohsiung. The exhibition incorporates local Taiwanese elements, featuring the "Egg Emperor’s Palace," Taiwanese night market cuisine, Taipei 101, and Kaohsiung’s Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. This time, heading to Taichung is no exception—it is sure to bring a refreshing experience to the central Taiwan audience.

The exhibition focuses on Gudetama’s lazy and adorable daily life and is divided into four major zones. Those who want to get to know Gudetama better can visit the "Chase Gudetama" zone, where they can interview Gudetama through a rapid Q&A session. The "Gudetama’s Daily Life" zone depicts how Gudetama is always by your side at any time of day—from breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea to even dinner—helping you relieve all the day’s stress just by seeing Gudetama.

The "Gudetama Travels Taiwan" zone centers around the "Egg Emperor’s Palace," surrounded by shopping streets, outdoor attractions, parks, and night markets. The nostalgic retro atmosphere gives the Japanese-born Gudetama a taste of Taiwanese local flavor. The "Gudetama Draft Zone" showcases the author’s first impressions of Taiwan—from yellow taxis, garbage trucks, and motorcycles—to how Gudetama was integrated into Taiwan’s characteristics, all presented in the drafts.
